We’re excited to create our summer bucket lists with Summer just beginning. Whether it’s to go to a certain beach or try a new ice cream place, the summer is a time to enjoy carefree adventures. You may want to be carefree, but the budget says otherwise. So here are a few bucket list ideas on a budget!

1.Have a Picnic

Pack a homemade lunch with your favorite meals, snacks, and drinks, and head out to a park, a beach, or even more a lake. Having a picnic is a great way to enjoy the sunshine, fresh air, and a lovely meal while being surrounded by nature.

2. Enjoy a Hiking Adventure

Find a local trail and embark on an adventure! Hiking is a wonderful way to exercise while not spending a dime (or maybe a few bucks for parking).

3. Spend a Day at the Beach

Head to the nearest beach or lake and enjoy the sun, sand, and swimming. It’s not a beach day without bringing along snacks, drinks, and beach games to have a fun-filled and inexpensive beach day! Don’t forget the sunscreen!

4. Go on a Camping Trip

Camping is another affordable way to connect with nature and spend your time in the summer. Whether it’s in your backyard or a local campsite, grab your gear and some marshmallows, and enjoy the nature!

5. Visit a Farmers’ Market

If you’re a huge proponent of supporting locals like myself, explore a local farmers’ market to discover fresh, locally-grown produce and handmade goods. It’s a budget-friendly way to grab your friends and enjoy an outing that supports local farmers and artisans!

6. Enjoy a DIY Craft Night

What better way to make memories other than having a DIY craft night! You can use materials you have on hand or can purchase them cheaply. Let your creativity bloom and make something that is unique and personal.

7. Museum or Art Gallery Visit

Look out for free admission days or discounted rates at museums and art galleries. It’s a great way to learn and explore without breaking the bank. Take advantage of these opportunities to enjoy some culture and art without spending a lot of money.

8. Stargazing

Find a spot away from the city lights and spend a cool summer night stargazing. Use a stargazing app to help identify constellations and planets, making it an ethereal and magical evening!

9. Library Exploration

Want to support local even more? Spend a day at the local library exploring books, movies, magazines, and more! Libraries also often have free events or resources. It’s a great place to learn new things; you never know what new read you’ll find!

10. Start an at-home Herb Garden

As we know, the cost of food is on the rise. That being said, growing your own herbs and vegetables at home is a cost-effective way to enjoy fresh and flavorful additions to your meals! Use small pots, repurposed containers, and mason jars to start growing your garden. Once you see your seedlings starting to sprout or your herbs thriving, you’ll enjoy the work you put in towards your mini garden!
