Staying motivated while working from home or remotely can be challenging. But there are ways to overcome that challenge. Here are five strategies to help you stay focused and productive when you work from home:

Create a Dedicated Workspace

When you set up a specific area in your home or have a home office just for your work, this can help mentally separate your work from your leisure/chores time at home. This will make it easier to focus during work hours.

Ditch the Loungewear

It’s time to put the loungewear away and get dressed! The feeling of getting ready as well as the routine alongside that really helps motivate you to get the work day going.

Maintain a Routine

Speaking of routines… Want a helpful way to stay motivated? Stick to a regular schedule as you would in an office. Have a specific start and end times for your workday and don’t forget taking regular breaks and a consistent lunch time! Maintaining a routine can mentally help you

Set Clear Goals for Each Day

By starting each day by listing your tasks and prioritizing them, you’ll have a clear plan that can keep you focused and give you a sense of accomplishment as you complete each task. Write each task with intent, whether it’s on your iPad or if you’re like me, in your physical planner.

Find a New Space To Work At

Just because you work from home, doesn’t mean you have to stay stuck at home. As someone who works from home/is remote, some days the home office can feel rather, repetitive and dull. When that happens, I decide to get ready and head out to a local café or the library. Having a new area to work in can be refreshing and give you a little boost you need to stay motivated!
