New York Fashion Week 2023 is Full of Seasoned Designers and Fresh Faces, Who Are You Looking Forward to?
New York Fashion Week 2023 is here. There will be many designers such as flaunting their Fall/Winter 2023 collections. Here are a few that I’m looking forward to seeing this year. But let’s start with the basics!
What is New York Fashion Week?
New York Fashion Week provides an opportunity for designers to show off their or preview their collections before release! Did you know that NYFW is one of the four fashion weeks known worldwide? Yes, that includes Paris, London, and Milan. This year, New York Fashion Week takes place from February 10th to February 15th.
RODARTE
RODARTE was founded in 2005 by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy. RODARTE explores a mix of high couture with modern femininity. RODARTE has been internationally known and has many pieces placed in museums such as Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, and the National Museum of Women in Arts.
Anna Sui
Known as one of New York’s most beloved and accomplished designers for her contemporary designs, she launched her first collection back in 1981. Her first major breakthrough was at Paris Fashion Week in 1991 where just a year later, she opened her first retail shop in 1992. Today, Anna Sui has over 50 boutiques, and her products are sold in over 30 countries.
Zimo
Zimo Yan is a CFDA + Design Graduate Award winner and will be showcasing Asian history and culture in her collection at New York Fashion Week 2023. As an Asian American myself, I am very interested to see her work!
Tory Burch
Tory Burch, founded in 2004, has redefined American luxury through empowering women. Tory Burch’s collection feature colors, timelessness, and unique details, especially at New York Fashion Week. I am excited to see what Tory Burch has in store for us!
Proenza Schouler
Proenza Schouler is a New York womenswear and accessories brand that makes luxury fashion for the intelligent, adult, urban woman of today. I absolutely adore the fact that the brand’s name comes from the designers’ mothers’ maiden names. Proenza Schouler has been awarded the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Award, five CFDA awards, and the Womenswear Designer of the Year Award. Looking forward to seeing what award-winning designs they will have for us at the 2023 NYFW!
Final Thoughts
Another season of New York Fashion Week, featuring both designers new and old. I’m looking forward to a plethora of fashion, styles, colors, and themes to be featured this week. Who are you looking forward to this year?
